The gorges are a columnar basalt canyon carved by an Etna lava flow: you go through in a wetsuit, alternating wading, short swims and a few jumps. Day one is the beginner route and works even for first-timers.
Day two climbs towards Etna’s Silvestri craters, a four-hour walk over the 1892 lava field. Technical gear and guide are included.
