Alta Via 1 is the classic Dolomites traverse: it starts at Lake Braies and heads steadily south, stage after stage, with 600 to 1,200 metres of ascent a day and nights in mountain huts. No ropes or climbing experience needed, but trained legs certainly help.
We handle the hut bookings (which have to be made months ahead), luggage transfers where they exist, and the bad-weather alternatives. The route can be shortened to six days by skipping the most exposed sections.
